It's fall so let's make a U-Turn!
Decisions of our governement seem to change by season. While our Health minister decided in May that public smoking should be banned, now, nearly 5 months later, he dedides different. The restaurant and catering industry managed to get a 180-degree turn on national health policy. Public smoking won't be banned, keeping all of us in clouds of smoke in restaurants & bars.
The reason of this big U-turn?? Well, the restaurant business convinced our government that people won't go out to dinner & drinks anymore. And with that, thousands of jobs will dissapear. WTF????
In the majority of civilized country's this law can work and in Holland it can't??? As if people will not go eat in restaurants because they can't smoke in there.

I hate smoke in restaurant! I was planning to go out more as soon as the smoking ban would become active. I was already saving money to spent in the restaurants! Now i guess i'll just spent it on something else.... hmmm... wait a minute. The majority doesn't smoke... wouldn't a ban increase sales in restaurants and create more jobs? Maybe? We'll never know...

In our town, out of dozens there is only one restaurant which allows smoking. One by one they "changed" and it is so much nicer. Lost business? Definitely not.
