Behind candy bars

A Dutch prison is like a luxury hotel, but instead of a nice view, you get bars. From the bars on it only gets better when you get in a Dutch prison. Behold.

Just recently the government decided to create cells for not one but two prisoners. It caused a little riot. Everyone is used to it now.

After that the prisoners demanded more free time. No comment.

Last week it was decided that the inmates could keep their personal television sets on their rooms but the paid channels (mainly sex and sports) had to go. You almost pitty them, don’t you?

One prisoner (who’s in jail for murder) even managed to run a escort service from his jail cell.

This same prisoner decided to make the most out of the 24 internet access (You said 24 hour internet access? Yes. That’s what I said). This prisoner has a 911 (or in Dutch: 112) recording on his website. On this recording you can listen to the murder he committed. The screaming of the victim and his wife (who survived). The gun shot.
Not only it’s on his website, it’s not free, you’ve to pay to listen to it (link to Dutch news website).

So he’s in jail, watching telly with his roommate while making money of his own murder & escort service. What a punishment. That’ll teach him.

To prevent him from making money on the recording, today a few Dutch television channels have broadcasted it (the family of the victim will be pleased with that don’t you think). Unfortunately Dutch (prison) punishments aren’t really long. So you have to keep committing crimes to enjoy the luxury of State Hilton Resort. Yeah life sucks doesn’t. Bwah!
