Why all my dinner parties start at Wikipedia
That and 6 other weird fact abouts moi, that's what the charming McMommy tagged me for (like ages ago, but you know, kind of busy here with the kids).
7 things you always wanted to know about Nadine (or not, but in that case, pretend)
- Even though Dutch is my native language, most of our cookbooks are American or English. The cooking process always starts with converting ounces to grams and translating ingredients in Wiki.
- I don't do sports. I know I should, but I just dislike being that active. Being naturally slim doesn't help getting me into sports either (but I am NOT complaining). I put picking up some sport on my 101-goal list, because I do think it is important and I definitely want to give a good example to my children.
- I have never done artificial sun tanning and will never. I am afraid that it will turn me into a Oompa Loompa
Great. Now I have that song stuck in my head. Oompa, Loompa, doom-pa-dee-do
- I don't have a favorite movie. And if I had, I would probably not remember the name, because,
- I don't have a good memory for those things. Names of actors, book titles, movie titles, song titles, all get deleted by my brain. But ask me what weather it was and how I was feeling on this and that day and who said what to the girl in the pink striped dress? I'd know. Numbers seem to stick well too. Like how much things cost and such.
- I hate fresh cilantro. A good guacamole can be totally uneatable for me when my taste buds find too much cilantro in it. But when we cook something Mexican (or something else that requires cilantro) I do put in a little in hopes of getting over the dislike.
- They (you know THEY the fashion experts) say "every girl should have a little black dress". I don't have it. In fact, I have very few dresses.
If you feel tagged, join the party. Here are the rules for those who want to play by the book:
1. Link your tagger. Post the rules.
2. Share 7 facts about yourself (random or weird)
3. Tag 7 friends
4. Leave a comment letting them know they have been tagged.

I don't tan, either. I like my leather on handbags, thank you very much.
As for movies - i'm like you. No real favourites. And I couldn't remember an actor's name if I was paid money!!

I hate cilantro too!
Most of my cookbooks are in English, but I do have a Dutch one and a Spanish one, so I sometimes have to do a little translating too (tho I can make hutsput without a recipe).
Actually, I totally agree with most of your list except the sports thing. I *used* to be like you with sports. Then, I started playing ultimate frisbee, and I am now so into the sports thing. But you don't have to play a sport to set a good example for your kids. Just getting out and walking, going to the park, etc are all great ways to show your kid how to be active.

I've never tanned, either, and don't plan to. I'm pale, but healthy :-)

My husband hates cilantro; so, when I'm mad at him, I make something with the dreaded herb in it.

I'm not a big cilantro fan either. I don't put it in guacamole, because then I wouldn't like guacamole. I don't do the tanning thing either, natural sun is scary enough, I'm not going to go for extra UV rays and pay for the priviledge...

I don't tan either. It would only bring me more freckles.
But cilantro -- love it!!

I don't mind cilantro....
Funny, it never occurred to me what language your cookbooks would be in. I learn something new everyday :)

Translating ingredients from Dutch to English takes dedication...more so than just the buying of the food and the cooking, which takes enough time in itself!
I have a bad memory, too. At least we admit it! :)

I had to laugh when I read about your feelings on fresh cilantro. I can't stand the stuff and hate it when the put it in guacomole. It really has no place there. And can I just say that I am so impressed with your cooking abilities. If I had to convert measurements in order for me to cook, my family would starve!
