It's a boy!
January 30, 01:38 hours after just 3,5 hours of labor, our first son was born. He and Sweety are doing great, but are to tired to post anything. I'm on my way to declare him at city hall and hand in my resignation at work. Busy days :) I'll probably update again, with photos, tomorrow....
p.s. thanks for shouting, it seemed to have helped :)

A question for a question!
First: my exams are OVER! Yay! I already have one grade back (from the Tuesday exam I did on a class called “Communication Research”). On a scale from 1 to 10? I got a 7.5! * happy dance * ouch! * happy waddle *
I’m much less confident about yesterday’s Yurpian Union exam. From the 30 multiple choice questions I had to gamble 13! I had studied really well, it was just that hard. Thank you all for your good luck wishes. I’m sure that helped to keep iBaby stay in.
Now everybody, on the count of 3.. “iBaby you can come OUT now!!!”.
1…..
2…..
3…..
“iBaby you can come OUT now!!!”.
I trust you just screamed on the top of your longs!
OK..
Now that I have a bit more time, I thought about making a new design and adding some little things to my blog. That made me curious. I already have 4 different designs. Every visitor can choose which skin he wants to use.
SO MY QUESTION is: which one do you use & like best?
If there's anything you want to say about the designs (maybe they appear weird or with errors on your computer) please let me know in the comments. Thanks!
Because you're help is greatly appreciated, I’ll make you a deal:
For answering that question, I’ll answer a question! (gawd, can blogging be more narcistic?) That will also help me to keep busy while waiting for iBaby to make an appearance. So go ahead, what have you always wanted to know about Sweety, but were afraid to ask?
Common, there must be something!

My sweetest iBaby,
Mommy has a little request….
Tonight and Thursday, mommy has school exams. You know that the last few days she has put quite some hours in studying for these exams. Although you’ve already been such a GREAT help by hitting mommy’s ribs whenever she fell asleep while doing said studying, … I kinda need this one more favor.
You know the little house you live in now? The one that’s getting smaller every day? We call it a womb. Could you just ehm.. stay in there, until, ehm, let’s say, this Friday? So mommy can do her exams? I KNOW it must be VERY boring in there. But I’ll promise to entertain you by singing songs (OK, I know I suck at singing, but maybe Mr. Sweety can do that), tickling your little feet (which you so adorable stick out my right side) and saying sweet things to you. It’s just 3 more days… what’s 3 little days in 9 months….
Mommy understands you might have difficulties knowing whether or not it’s Friday. So I’ll just give you a signal when it’s okay for you to come out. What about.. When it’s Friday, I try to grab your foot 3 times real quick? And than you come out? Preferably painless and quick? : )
Would that work for you?
Thanks!
Love,
Mommy

Scrabbled
My life, well the last few days anyway.....

Nesting
Our house has not been SO clean in like ever. Everything is clean. Everything is organized.
Things I haven’t done (and I am not planning on doing either!):
- Arrange our books by cover color
- Clean out the balcony closet (spiders ewww)
- Vacuum the ceiling
- Clean out my blog (OK, little lie: I did clean up my blogroll)
- Wash shoe laces of all our shoes
- Throw away socks that seem to have lost their matching twin

Will iBaby arrive early? Well according to this website (s)he can.
The nesting urge can also be seen as a sign of the onset of labor when it occurs close to 40 weeks of pregnancy.
Hello. Close to 40 weeks of pregnancy? My cat sneezing can be a sign of the onset of labor.
Hello contractions! Welcome!
Twice a week I attend a pregnancy yoga class. It’s where we learn what to expect during labor. It’s also where we learn how to welcome the contractions.
That deserves a whole other post. Giving birth in The Netherlands: welcome contractions. Painkillers are so overrated. Yes, that’s me being sarcastic.
R.I.P. Pluis
Last Wednesday when we went to bed our bunny Pluis (which means something like Fluffly) was a very active & healthy bunny. We let them play out of their cage when we’re home. And Wednesday night Pluis was happily running and jumping on the couch.
Thursday we found her lying on her side in her cage. She looked very ill and was so dizzy she couldn’t even sit.
We immediately went to the vet. The vet wanted to give her a chance and cure her. She got the best medicine but she didn’t get better enough in the 24 hours the doctor gave her. So we had to say goodbye. We’re sad. But I think she’s happily running around in the mountains of carrots in bunny heaven.
Our other bunny seems to miss her but he’s enjoying the extra love he’s been getting.

It feels like we picked her up only yesterday. Pluis (the little one) when we just got her, 2.5 years ago.
OK, on a happier note:
24!
I’m very excited that 24 is back! We saw the first 2 episodes, and we’re instantly addicted.
Scrabble
I don’t know what this has go to do with anything. But since this is a random post.. Mr. Sweety and I have played a lot of Scrabble lately. And we’re getting good at it too!
Yurpeun Union
I have 2 school exams next week. One is about the European Union.
This EU stuff is VERY boring. I know this because:
- I wake up every hour with my EU book covered in drool.
- I use household chores like laundry as an excuse to have a break
- I’m reading at the brilliant speed of one page per hour
- My eyelids are SO heavy...
- I’m writing this post when I’m supposed to study

BBB: Blogger Baby Boom
Still here? Read more blogs influenced by mad pregnancy hormones? You can! I’m SO not the only blogger who is about to give birth to her first baby ever.
Let me introduce you to my due date buddies:
The lovely Casey
Who is impatient and wants Freya to come. Like NOW! Her due date is a day from mine, so she might be waiting another 3 weeks. But don’t tell her that ;)
Craaaazzee Mrs. Mogul
A quirky New Yorker living in London. Mrs. Mogul doesn’t know if she’s having a girl or a boy! Her due date is just days from mine.
Jaime, not due, but done!
Ehm. I’m too late! She already gave birth to a little girl! Go congratulate her!
I just know I’m forgetting someone. Don’t be angry if you’re the one I’m forgetting. My brain is malfunctioning. Hormones.
Also, Liz just found out she’s pregnant! Congrats to her! Yay!
update:(excuse my brain)
E
I KNEW I forgot someone, go visit the lovely E from Australia and send her good health vibes. She's 36 weeks pregnant and her baby will have to come a bit earlier because of possible cholestasis.

My alter ego is fat
This is what you get when you wake up at 5.30 AM and decide to have an early cornflakes breakfast, visit some blogs and take a Lost alter ego quiz.
I was hoping to be the lovely Claire, like Casey. But in stead I'm Hurley. I might have to reconsider baking the cookies, I was planning to today.
 | You scored as Hurley. You're Hurley! A big fan of food, fun, a person everybody can relate to and everybody likes.
Hurley | | 81% | Claire | | 75% | Kate | | 50% | Sayid | | 50% | Locke | | 50% | Jack | | 44% | Sun | | 44% | Charlie | | 44% | Shannon | | 31% | Sawyer | | 31% | Michael | | 31% | Jin | | 31% | Boone | | 13% |
Who is your "Lost" alter ego? created with QuizFarm.com |
I do wish to win the lottery like my alter ego.
When we were in Hawai'i, Mr. Sweety & I met Sawyer (on our wedding day!) and we saw Hurley at a restaurant (yeah laugh, where else would we meet him?). Anyways. I wanted to take a picture, but was a bit embarrased to, and didn't want to harass him during dinner. But when he got up to go to the bathroom, I decided to take my chance. The door the the restaurant was right behind Mr. Sweety. So I thought, when 'Hurley' returns I pretend to make a picture of Mr. Sweety and by that get a picture of him and Hurley.
This is the result:

Mr. Sweety looks like he already knows this picture will be totally screwed up.
Gawd, I'm such a lame photographer. Really it is Hurley. You HAVE to believe me.
It might have something to do with that my attention was on my food. SURPRISE. I was 5 months pregnant, how could I concentrate on making a picture of my alter ego while enjoying the best chocolate cake ever?

See? He's there. OK. I'll stop here with the crazy pics. Don't want you to think I'm a celeb stalker or anything :)
BTW: If you're on Oahu, you have to eat at the restaurant. It's called Jameson by the sea and it is SO good! And when you run into my alter ego? Would you be so kind so say hi and make a picture for Sweety? Had I known he was my allter ego I would surely have tried to introduce myself.
Still don't believe it's Hurley? Than I have no other choice than make you jealous. I've got a new proverb: It's better to one good picture of Sawyer in your hand than ten bad ones of your alter ego on the internet. Or something like that....

You WHAT? A close-up? Sure, let me zoom in...

Wait, is that even the same picture? Muhahaha!
And the great thing is, I KISSED him too! Let me show you...

Random
Some completely random things:
1st: It’s DELURKING week.
According to a VERY reliable source anyway. So lurkers around the world, this is your turn to say something. Come say hi!
2nd: the belly @ 37 weeks.
Remember how I said I thought it couldn’t grow any bigger at 34 weeks? I was SO wrong:

I admit the picture is a bit blurry. But blurry makes you look thinner. It's the new black! Black & blurry, how skinny I must look.
3rd: Strange Snail SPAM
From time to time we get really odd messages in our snail mailbox. Or should I say mAssages?

What is this person thinking? I mean seriously. Didn't even take the time to make herself (assuming it's a she) a company logo.
4th: New Years pictures
I hope you all had a wonderful New Years! We sure did enjoy a quiet party at home. With lots of sparkling apple cider and non-alcoholic champagne.

Mr. Sweety eating an oliebol.

Non-alcoholic beverages. As soon as iBaby pops out, I'm having the real thing.

Watching the fireworks from our little sun room.
5th: Exams
In 2 weeks I have two school exams (the classes are Research & Europe). I’m wondering if iBaby will stay in my belly until AFTER the exams. I’ll study anyway. You can never learn to much.. or can you?
Besides, I’m sure it’s very useful to know everything about the European Union when I’m changing diapers.
