I'm Nadine. Mother to the Monkey (2 years) and his baby sister (born this January) and married to my wonderful loving husband FreezeM.. I was born August 8 1978, so I'm ... almost 30 (eeeek)! I work part time, although now I am enjoying my parental leave until this summer!

Dry, by Augusten Burroughs

My husband got me a new book from my favorite author Augusten Burroughs for Christmas. I can not wait to start reading it.

The China Study, by T. Colin Campbell.

A must reed for anyone intrested in food and nutrition. The book continues to be an eye opener. I never realized there was so many proof to what food can do to keep you healthy or that it can kill you. *****

Sellevision: A Novel, by Augusten Burroughs

I LOVE Augusten Burroughs. His books make me laugh out loud in a crowded public transport. Though slightly embarrising, it is nothing compared to what his characters go through in his books. *****

Tim's 3 week life in photos!

You might have noticed a lack of updates here. I plead guilty.

I won't apologize. I'm happy if I can get into the shower before 2 PM! I'm not complaining though. I love everything about being a mother, especially being Tim's mother. I just can't get to do anything else. And blogging.. well in the spare moments I do find I try to eat, clean house.. and rest..

Here's a bunch of pictures that'll give you a good impression of our lives the last 3 weeks... (OMG it has been 3 weeks already!). I have not forgotten the question for a question post. I will try to answer them this weekend. I'm sorry for the delay! Also, I will post the birth story ASAP. I know some of you really want to read it.

For now, I hope you enjoy the photos...

timfeb_manicure.jpg
Tim's first manicure!! Who's the girl? Well, in The Netherlands new mothers & baby's are really spoiled. A private nurse/ baby expert/ cleaner/ breast feeding expert (all in one :) comes to help out for 8 5-hour days. It's all paid for by health insurance. We call her "kraamhulp" (maternity home care). She helps take care of the baby, makes sure he's healthy, cleans house, helps mother & baby breastfeed, cooks meals and tells mother & father what to expect the next few days. It's truly fantastic.

timfeb_bath.jpg
Bath time! And I thought cat's didn't like water!

My two favorite men.... :)

timfeb_carseat.jpg
Tim's first time in his carseat. He's SO little!

timfeb_eartest.jpg
Last week he had his first test! A hearing test at the children's doctor. He passed! Yay!

timfeb_book.jpg
Mom, you're over stimulating me. I don't understand the pictures yet!"

timfeb_pacifier.jpg
I like the pacifier. But mommy and daddy? They LOVE it!

timfeb_daddy.jpg
Are you lookin' at me?

timfeb_out.jpg
First time out! I cried more than Tim.

timfeb_roller.jpg
Dreamin' of a roller coaster ride. Yayyyyy!

timfeb_scream.jpg
I'm HUNGRY!!!.. I need a diaper change!!! ... or I'm TIRED!!!! .. .. or

Just over a week old...

My sweetest Tim,

You’re just over a week old when I write this. Already I can’t imagine my life without you.

I love everything about you.

I love the little sounds you make when you sleep.
I love the way you raise both your eyebrows, with your eyes shut.
I love your little hands,
… and your big feet.
I love your baby blue eyes.
I love the way you fall asleep when I’m feeding you.
I love the way you hold my finger.
I love your satisfied look when you had enough to eat.
I love how you get a little milk mustache.
I love the way your hold your hands, like you’re praying.
I love how you yawn.
I love how you calm down when you suck on my pinkie finger.
...or your dad’s.
I love the the little o’s you make with your mouth while you’re asleep.
I love the way you cry, like your saying “la la la”
I love the way I recognize your dad in your big blue eyes.
I love your little brown hairs.
I love the way you smell.
...yes, I even love your poop diapers.
I love how you fall asleep while your little head rests on my breasts.
I love the way you discover the world around you with your blue eyes.
I love the way you make me feel, all filled with love for you.

I love you. And I can’t, and don’t want to, imagine my life without you.

Not even for a week.

Love,
Mom

Thanks so much for all your well wishes! I won't be answering them all personally, as we're VERY busy with our little wonder. But thank you so much!

More pictures soon, I'm a bit occupied at the moment!
