I'm Nadine. Mother to the Monkey (2 years) and his baby sister (born this January) and married to my wonderful loving husband FreezeM.. I was born August 8 1978, so I'm ... almost 30 (eeeek)! I work part time, although now I am enjoying my parental leave until this summer!

Dry, by Augusten Burroughs

My husband got me a new book from my favorite author Augusten Burroughs for Christmas. I can not wait to start reading it.

The China Study, by T. Colin Campbell.

A must reed for anyone intrested in food and nutrition. The book continues to be an eye opener. I never realized there was so many proof to what food can do to keep you healthy or that it can kill you. *****

Sellevision: A Novel, by Augusten Burroughs

I LOVE Augusten Burroughs. His books make me laugh out loud in a crowded public transport. Though slightly embarrising, it is nothing compared to what his characters go through in his books. *****

A sign of life

We're moved (last Saturday) and my exams are over. Moving and exams in the same week? CRAZY.

Here are a few pics of the new - and SO not done - house:

Kitchen! Which is my favorite part of the house.

Another view of the kitchen.

Tim enjoying lunch in the new kitchen. Yes that's broccoli. He LOVES it!

That's it for now!

Still a GAZILLION things to do. Like buying curtains! Hanging up some shelves. Another trip to our own home improvement store will kill me. Seriousely.

But the most important part is: we're moved.

Is the house done?

I am going grazy! We're packing, I'm going to school, busy on finding a good project for my final paper AND we'r still VERY busy in the new house.

It's now 8 AM. I just went into Tim's room to wake him up. And than I thought... why wake him? Why wake a sleeping baby? :) This is probably the only few minutes of Nadine time. So I thought I'd use that and post some pictures.

I miss blogging. Writing about my days and visiting your blogs help me to stay sane. But with all stuff going on, I bearly have time to breathe. I promise, I will get back into blogging. For now, just a few pics:

Yep. Purple.

That's it for now. Good timing: I hear Tim just woke up and wants his mommy. Gotta run!

Oh what a feeling

...my MIL is tearing down the ceiling!

Finally. A chance to blog. We got the keys to our new house last week. And ever since we’ve been working in the new house.

Some things that we’re doing:
New kitchen and relocate plumbing to other site of the house, new floor, new central heating system, plastering walls, paint, remove ceilings and place new ones.

We’ve hired a contractor to do most of the stuff. We’re both not very handy when it comes to house stuff. Anything beyond removing things - Like tearing down the ceiling, that was fun! Although my mother in law almost KILLED me while doing that! But I survived!- and painting we have to leave up to the contractor. We do get a lot of help. Both grandma's reguraly take care of Tim, so we can work @ the house.

Sorry I haven’t been around here and your blogs. But as you can read, I have been a 'little' busy. I hope things we’ll be back to normal soon.

January 20 is moving date! Aaaah.

Last box!

This moving is pretty tiring. But we're getting there. There's only 1 box left to empty. Most of our stuff has found a place and the place if finally looking comfy & cosy again.

But since we moved here, I slept 1 full night. I'm to stressed to sleep. I have to get used to the sounds you can hear from neighbours and stuff. Normally I can sleep through anything, but now, I just lay in bed, eyes wide open. I can't wait untill neighboursounds stop waking me up. They don't bother FreezeM, why me?

Simba however can relax whenever, wherever.. Again, I wish I was a cat :)

He just can't wait untill everything is in place.. and hanging straight :) Sorry for the grainy phone-cam picture!

Moved!

Did you miss me? This Sunday we moved into our new home. I really wanted to post but we have to wait another 2 or 3 weeks untill we have ADSL and the phone line is not good enough for data transfer :(

We have the phonecompany looking at it right now, but I don't think it will be ready any time soon. I have internet at work, but you have to miss me on Fridays & weekends.

Now I have a lot of blog catchin' up to do!!

Most of our boxes are at our new place now.. We've started unpacking late this day & evening. We're making room for us, our cats & our furniture! If all goes well, we'll move over there this sunday.

Now I'm to tired to post or make jokes about La Boob.. I'm off to bed.. zzz

Pets

"What kind of pets do you have?" asked the broker on the phone while I was heading back home after making the deposit for the appartment.
"Cats" I said. "Why?"
She: "Then you can't rent the appartment the houseowner doesn't allow pets, I'm sorry I didn't see that before on your application".
Me: "Oh"
She: "Is it a problem you can't take your pets?"
Me: *shakes head* and I ask when I can get my deposit back
...
...
She: "wait, we've got the owner on the phone this minute..."

I can hear some of the conversation .. ... "..nice people"... "wooden floors..." "deposit" .... "damage" ....

A few minutes later the house owner agreed with the pets, but if they cause any damage it's taken of our deposit money. That's okay with me. So the story is: we can rent the appartment :) Next Friday we're signing the contract :) Jippeeeee.

I hope she learned her lesson, se should have asked that before. But hey.. I'm happy :)))

I do

So we said YES to the appartment :) I have to make a deposit & give copies of ID and payment checks tomorrow. Then the owner will decide if we can rent it or not. Keep your fingers crossed...

The wonderful thing about this house is that we can rent it without renting it for a whole year (often you have to sign for AT LEAST a year).. So when (oh god no) we happen to run into bad bad bad neighbours again, we can move out without having to break any contract.. ;)
