I'm Nadine. Mother to the Monkey (2 years) and his baby sister (born this January) and married to my wonderful loving husband FreezeM.. I was born August 8 1978, so I'm ... almost 30 (eeeek)! I work part time, although now I am enjoying my parental leave until this summer!

Dry, by Augusten Burroughs

My husband got me a new book from my favorite author Augusten Burroughs for Christmas. I can not wait to start reading it.

The China Study, by T. Colin Campbell.

A must reed for anyone intrested in food and nutrition. The book continues to be an eye opener. I never realized there was so many proof to what food can do to keep you healthy or that it can kill you. *****

Sellevision: A Novel, by Augusten Burroughs

I LOVE Augusten Burroughs. His books make me laugh out loud in a crowded public transport. Though slightly embarrising, it is nothing compared to what his characters go through in his books. *****

Winter, spring, summer and fall

Though I miss the warmth of Portugal (I cannot believe I was sunbathing on a Lisbon beach in my bikini just two weeks ago), there's nothing quite like enjoying a clear, colorful fall day with my two boys.

Pictures finally!

And than finally the promised pictures of our trip to Brussels and Bruges (Belgium), with Zandria.

Two famous bloggers.. don't you dare say otherwise

The peeing guy & main market square. We had searched for ages to find the peeing guy. He's a national Belgium celebrity. You'll have to see the main market square in real life. There is not a picture that could represent it's amazing beauty.

Belgium beer & old buildings

Open air music festival and random cute couple

Random cute couple and famous Brussels Atomium

For more pictures be sure to check Zandria's photopage.

Back!

Mr. Sweety & I came back yesterday evening from a weekend trip to the very south of The Netherlands: Limburg. Limburg is about a three hour drive from where we live. Our hotel was very close to the border of Germany (and Belgium). Actually, we accidentally drove into Germany a couple of times.

We needed that break! We had lots of fun & relaxed. I’ll write more about the trip this week. I’m working on a photoblog where I’ll be posting more pictures, but for now:

Triple country point: I’m standing in Belgium, Germany and The Netherlands.

Aaaaw aren’t we cute!

Mr. Sweety on the highest point in The Netherlands. I think it was like 200 metres somewhat. Did you know The Netherlands is situated below sea level?

Our hotel situated in an old “gentleman’s farm house”. It was an excellent hotel situated near a castle and a beautiful valley.

Visiting a very old castle ruin. It was build in 1100 somewhat.

I’ll answer emails & check up on my favourite blogs later today. Excuse the delay!

Caught redheaded

Chris and Feisty girl noticed I was slightly hiding behind Simba in the photo in Fridays post about my new hairdo and they asked for more pictures.

I feel caught. *grin*

So for Chris & Feisty girl, again, La Redhead Uncovered.

Drums please…

Oh my god... please don't laugh

Actually I think I'm beginning to like it

You got 21 days to get your chilly ass out of here

I'm SO ready for spring. It's not that I don't enjoy the pretty white view outside, I just don't want my ears freezing off every lunchbreak I decide to take a walk outside.

Whatever, I'm ready to sit outside enjoying a nice cold beer in the sun!

........ and doesn't Bambi look cold?

Malta Man

Meet Malta Man & Malta dog:

Why did I take this picture? I have this weird thing with taking pictures of animals. Screw the old buildings, the art, the whatever: I like to photograph animals. And you think this guy is funny? No, this guy was sitting there with his friends & little dog watching & making fun of the hundreds of tourists passing by.

This picture is made during our little horror holiday to Malta, June 2002. It's taken in Malta's capitol city; Valletta. Malta is really great, but if you visit, make sure you're hotel is at least 4**** because Malta stars are ehm.. different :)

We had to switch hotel because of the giant cockroaches in our hotel room. When I say giant, I mean like rat-sized cockroaches. Ew. Ew. Ew.

So the more stars, the less cockroaches you can expect.

Malta also has MacDonald's, Burger King, Pizza Hut AND TGI! :) So if you're not into the Maltesian food, there are some other things to choose from.

Moloko & Gus Gus

Friday 31 okt. We went to Moloko @ Heineken Music Hall in Amsterdam. They're GREAT! Before the show I only knew like 2 songs of Moloko and thought they were so so, but they ROCK! So thanx to D@n for telling us to go with him ;)

We also LOVED the support act: GusGus. We gave them nicknames: Cokey and Dopey because they where acting reaaaally funny. But they were very cool.

My favourite Gus Gus songs:
VIP (sorry, TOO LATE!!)
David (sorry, TOO LATE!! you can still Get their CD @ Amazon.com!)

Heineken Music Hall has a video stream of this concert (without support act) on their website:
Cable / Adsl / T1
Modem / Isdn

Lots of Heineken and people :))
